cloning macbook pro with bootcamp
hi,
I have a macbook pro(OS X tiger) with bootcamp(Win vista), I'd like to clone this to an external USB drive, after that I'd like to boot from the external drive, is this possible with SuperDuper? Thanks, Xcode960 |
Sorry, no: we don't copy Windows volumes. We're happy to copy the HFS+ part of the drive, however!

thanks for the quick reply, does that mean that:
the native OS X can be cloned to the external USB and bootable? win partition is simply ignored? |
Yes, as long as the USB drive is properly partitioned (as GUID) and your Mac is an Intel Mac.

How about I do it another way around:
1) pull out the hard disk from macbook pro and put into a USB enclosure. 2) can I boot from this external hard disk either from OS X or Windows? 3) boot OS X from the external hard disk and clone it to a new hard disk in the macbook pro? possible? |
Should be possible. Same partitioning rules apply.
