Scheduled Backups without User Login?

Hi,

I'd like to use SuperDuper to automate the back-up of a computer that hosts a website for one of my research groups. The documentation states that in order for the scheduled back-up to run, the following must be true:

1. user must be logged in
2. account must be in front (if user switching is allowed)
3. screen must be unlocked

I'd like to have scheduled back-ups run with all of these being false... i.e. the machine is running but no user is logged in. Is this possible, perhaps using other software to enable it?

If not, would it be possible to run the back-ups with only 1 and 2 being true?

In other words, the user will be logged in and be "in front" but with the screen locked?

The reason for my request is that this machine sits in our lab space and I want to make sure that anyone who accesses the computer has to type a password first.

Leaving an admin user logged in without a password-protected screensaver running is not an option.

I would appreciate any suggestions that people might have to enable a back-up to run with these requirements.

Thanks!

Ken

If the user is in front and the screen locked, that'll work. (That user does not have to be an admin, but SD! has to be unlocked with an admin password.)
