smart update while downloading query

I was wondering what the situation is if I do a smart update while I have some torrent files downloading. Does it cause any problems?

We generally recommend not writing big files while backing up. You can get errors (and, obviously, a file that's incomplete on the disk will be incomplete on the backup as well).
