We just returned to Tasmania after a month visiting in San Francisco. At Menlo Park Apple Store I bought Snow Leopard updater, then updated my MacBook Pro. Sadly I failed to pack the updater DVD so when I attempt to update our Mac Pro from the MBP with all the trip activity + Snow Leopard I've run into a snag.

The MBP is a partial clone of Mac Pro because of small hard drive. So I can't just overwrite the Mac Pro with MBP.

I used Superduper! 2.6.2 for the update. First I deleted root Library and System folders, then did a Smart Update of Mac Pro from MBP. The Superduper! log shows a large number of boot cache update warnings I have never seen before (please see below).

Any suggestions on the cause of the errors?

| 09:11:29 AM | Info | PHASE: 3. After Successful Copy
| 09:11:29 AM | Info | ...ACTION: Making MacPro bootable
| 09:11:29 AM | Info | ......COMMAND => Blessing OS X System Folder
| 09:11:29 AM | Info | Successfully blessed Mac OS X folder on MacPro
| 09:11:29 AM | Info | ...ACTION: Updating prebinding on MacPro
| 09:11:29 AM | Info | ......COMMAND => Updating boot cache on '/Volumes/MacPro'
| 09:11:30 AM | Info | warning, could not bind /Volumes/MacPro/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/Finder because file too small

BTW, Superduper! has been one of our most-favorite system admin apps since it was initially released. Critical volumes are cloned nightly by Superduper. In addition Time Machine backs up the boot volume.

Hard drive reliability continues to drop as densities rise - so "Be prepared!".

Can you send in the entire log to support with the 'send to shirt pocket' button?
