Hi checked out the other topics on this but couldn't fine one that fit it just right so I'm wondering if I can do this.

I have a large external drive which I back up my main hard drive to, but have enough room on it where I could utilize it to back a spare sata internal drive where I keep all of my photos.

Is there a right and wrong way to accomplish this apart from just dragging the photos over there.

I'm using a MacPro Intel running Snow Leopard
Thanks

You really need to partition the drive - one partition for each source volume you want to back up.

Thanks, does that require that I erase my complete back up drive and start from scratch or is it possible to create another partition without doing that.

In some situations Disk Utility can create a partition without erasing. iPartition can do it as well (in more cases).

I copying my iPhoto library to one EHD. Another EHD is used to do SD backup. If I have the iPhotoEHD running when I prompt the SDEHD to do backup will it back up the iPhoto images stored on the iPhotoEHD ?
How can I get informed about partitioning and utilities if it comes to that ?

I'm having some trouble following what you're asking here. But, if I understand you, SuperDuper! is only going to back up the volume you select. It won't back up other ones unless you choose those - and yes, they should be on their own partition: each source volume should have a corresponding destination volume (partition).

Help > Frequently Asked Questions, in SuperDuper!, has instructions for partitioning.

Hope that helps...
