I have a daily Smart Update of my boot drive ("Hobbes") to an external drive (currently "Hobbes A"). After I post this message, I'm going to dismount "Hobbes A" and swap it with "Hobbes B" in my safe deposit box.

When I return, I'll need to recreate my scheduled Smart Update to refer to the "Hobbes B" drive.

If I rename my backup drives to have the same name, will this confuse SuperDuper! in any way? There will never be a time when both drives are mounted because they're raw drives, and I have only one NewerTech Voyager docking station.

Using the same name for both drives would also avoid SuperDuper's chronic report at startup that it can't find the alternate drive.

No, but it also won't 'fool' it - we'll know the drives are different... there is an approach you can use, but it's pretty low-level. Send me some email to support if you want the steps.
