I think this falls into the category of a one-time quirk, but I'm not sure. I'm running Snow Leopard and using Super Duper to maintain a bootable clone on a FW HD. I just did a Smart Update and when I booted from my clone to check it after the update, I noticed an oddity in the Dock. My Downloads folder, which sits just to the left of Trash, was residing below the Dock. I could just barely see the top edge of it, but when I clicked on it, it opened normally but when I closed it, it went back down below the Dock.
I decided to redo the Smart Update and now when I boot from my clone, the Dock looks normal now. I don't think it's a problem but it's the first time I've ever seen any kind of anomaly in the GUI of the clone in several years of using SD, first with Tiger and now with SL. Thanks.
