I am going to wait until iPartition comes out with v. 2.0. That may or may not be before I get my G5. I was looking at some how-to's on the Apple site and it was explaining how to partition the second HD using Apples built-in software. There is one option for naming the partition. I though the computer automaticly names hard drives with letters starting with D (being the next letter after the C drive). Was the Mac site saying you could name it something personal like "System backup" (when I use SuperDuper) and the computer would still automatically name it D internally? I assume the personal name you give it is whats going to show up on the desktop. If I didn't name it anything would the letters D, E and F just show up for the three partitions?

I hope I'm making sense here!!! I plan three partitions. One for the system backup, one for the full clone and one for personal info. Are they going to be D, E and F? Could I name them System, Clone and Misc.

Thanks

Ah, Lee, your Windows are showing! ;)

Drives don't get named with letters on the Mac. You get to name things whatever you'd like, and that's its real name -- no C, no D, no E... unless you want to name them that!

So, System, Clone and Misc sound great. Go for it.

My pleasure, Lee. You'll get out of the Windows Habit soon enough!
