Error re DS_Store file

I'm trying to restore from my external drive but I get an error message after a while that says: Error removing item /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/~/Desktop/.DS_Store of type 100000, Input/Output error (followed by a similar message about deleting it)

Please let me know what I should do. Thanks

Doing a full restore? Try an erase-then-copy restore, rather than a Smart Update.

Thanks for the quick reply. Never had to do this before and didn't realize the difference.
