Is it possible to create with SuperDuper! a bootable startup volume that only shows a bare bones Mac OS X, i.e. a volume that can then be used as an emergency disk with stuff like Disk Warrior, Tech Tool, or Drive Genius installed. Is there a script available that would only copy the applications and data required by Mac OS X to run?

Not really, no - but you can install a basic OSX install to a flash drive in general and do this.

Thanks.. I thought as much. Might be worthy of adding this function to a wishlist for future versions, i.e. only copy applications and data that Apple put on your Mac to create an emergency disk. Since BootCD has not been updated it has become difficult to do this. The Installer requires just too much free space on the disk to operate, making the use of a flash drive impossible.

Really? An 8 or 16GB drive, with a custom install (unchecking unnecessary items) doesn't work?
