Back up applications

Hi All. I am new to SuperDuper and was wondering if I can use it to clone a partition that contains all my applications? I have a separate partition that contains my non-Apple apps. I just bought a new external HD and I wanted to reformat my internal drive and I thought it would be easier to use SuperDuper instead of re-installing all those applications again. Will they still work correctly after I restore them to the newly formatted internal drive?

Well... you can certainly copy the partition. But you'd have to copy all the various partitions for things to work properly, since parts of those applications are likely on the startup volume.

Well thats what I was affraid of. I did a test to see what would happen. I opened up Adobe Fireworks and a dialog box said that the application has been moved and needs to be repaired.
