View Full Version : Suggestion: Option to execute script on error/failed copy

We use SuperDuper here at work to clone disk images for new machines, and I've written a quick script that sends us an email when a particular machine has successfully finished it's clone. SuperDuper executes it when the copy is complete.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to have a script executed when the SD copy stops with an error, which would be just as useful.

Is this something that might be considered for a future version? Or am I overlooking something that is already in the app?

One workaround suggested by someone at work would be to have a script to monitor the latest SD log file, but something built into SD would be much nicer..

Thanks,

Robin

Growl -- which we support -- will do that on both manual and scheduled copies.

Thanks - i'm not that familiar with Growl. Can it cause a shell script to be executed? I was just aware of it giving little visual notifications on the local machine.

It's got a built-in action that'll send email.
