Dear Dave,
I wanted to thank you for your quick response via email, to help me exclude previous systems from the safety clone.
I have further looked at the nice ability to share folders/apps rather than copying them. I think that at least for me that is a terrific feature:
For example, I have a big (180gig) drive divided into about 125 and 50 gig partitions. The main partition I use for everything, including previous systems and extra copies. Am now safety cloning to the much smaller 50 gig, with no problem.
