Just finished a SuperDuper HD Clone.

Backup had no errors.

If I boot my MacPro using the "new model" macbook pro as a firewire HD the MacPro boots fine.

If I boot the MacBook Pro it restarts after the tone over and over.

Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix? I've reset the PRAM and unfortunately can't get into safe mode.

You cannot do that: the new MacBook Pros have a custom build of OSX on them. You should clean install from the discs that came with the new machine, then migrate from the full backup when prompted to "copy from another Mac".

Typically, OSX versions don't sync up with new hardware until the next build after the release of new Macs (e.g. 10.5.6, since the new Macs were released during 10.5.5).

You beat me to it...

I tried the same thing with my old MBP to my new MBP. Didn't work. Had to migrate. It was slower, but not too painful. Had to renenter some serial numbers, though...
