I need to clone a master build to 8 laptops and then change the primary user shortname to a unique one (of their choosing) for each laptop owner. I know that I can add each particular user as an admin but I assume that all apps etc. belong to the primary user .... and I want to avoid having to authenticate when older applications are replaced by newer versions, etc.

Is there any easy way to do this after cloning with SuperDuper! ?

thanks
FZ

PS I'm running the latest version of Leopard.

Sorry, no: this isn't something we support directly.

Has nothing to do with SD! However, in Leopard it is easier to change the short user name than it was in previous OSX versions.
See this article: http://www.macworld.com/article/132693/2008/03/changeshortusername.html
Note that changing both the short user name and the name of the user's home folder will break paths that include the name of that home folder.
