Hello,

I wanted to test the ability to do a full recover. I had 10.4 on my iBook which was setup as one partition. I used SuperDuper to create a full image of this partition to a network drive.

I then reinstalled 10.3.9 on the iBook, and created 2 partitions named untitled1 and untitled2, with the OS being on untitled2.

I then recovered the network image on untitled1.

Now I would like to boot from untitled1 but when I reboot and hold down the option key, I only see untitled2.

Any ideas?

Regards,

I got it working by using Startup Disk option in System Preferences and then booting fine. Subsequently, holding down the option key shows both partitions as choices.

Just not sure why that was required though. This is an old machine running older OS etc so not too worried as I thought it might work better in Leopard.

Any tips appreciated.

Thanks

I think using the Startup Disk choice from the prefpane (or the startup disk) is a good tip.
