i made what i thought would be a bootable copy of my hd from my last macbook 10.5:( , and as everyone knows, it was pre v.2.5 or whatever the 10.5 compatible version is. so i've been using the new macbook minus all my old files apps, and set ups which is on the old hd in an enclosure.

what can i now do with the still unbootable hd, so i can use it? it is very frustrating using the new macbook without all my stuff, and to copy everything over by hand would be too time consuming and would even work for some things like apps, which i'd rather not have to re-install, though i've HAD TO reinstall the essentials on the new MB.

i've not found any solutions browsing the discussions forum, or google.

please help.

cheers,
eeva

Well... you could try migrating from the copy*after turning ownership off for the drive, but I don't know if that'd work. Might be worth a try.

there's no way to make my old hd which was SD'd bootable, now that the 10.5 compatible version's out?

The metadata on it is likely incorrect, which is the problem... I mean, you can try an archive-and-install of Leopard to it, which [i]might[/b] work...
