View Full Version : overlapping icons

I recently upgraded my powerbook g4's internal drive and used SD! to successfully migrate to the new one. So far, so good, except a few minor (but irritating) problems.

Anytime I uncompress a file using the BOMARchiveHelper, the resulting file/folder is overlapping the original icon. This seems to occur no matter what folder the original file is in.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
Dave

That's weird: nothing comes immediately to mind, but perhaps try using Onyx/Cocktail/etc to clear your caches?

Thanks for the quick reply Dave. It is odd, isn't it? I've never seen anything like it. I've done tons of searching and only came up with one mention of it so far where the supposed fix was to change the Icon Size to "jog" the Finder's memory. That didn't help.

Just tried using Onyx 1.8.3 to run some maintenance:
Verify and Repair Permissions
Execute Maintenance Scripts
Clear all the Caches (except AU using apps)
Clean Recent & Temporary Items

I haven't tried any of the Resets yet, but unless someone has another idea, I guess I'll give it a go.
