Question on Disk Utility

for some reason I cannot "repair" disk as that choice is dimmed...I can verify and it shows some errors, but cannot repair?

Nevermind...I've been at this too long today...I can't repair my startup disk - duh!

That's because you're running from the drive you're trying to repair.
