smart update- external to external?

Hi- I'd like to be able to back up my itunes library using the smart udpate from my main external to a second external drive. I have yet to figure out how to do an external to external back up. Any suggestions, of course, would be appreciated.

Drive-to-drive (external-to-external) is no different than internal-to-external. If the drive isn't showing up, it's likely because it's not formatted properly for the Mac...
