After 25 minutes SuperDuper still reads that 0 files have been read and 0 files copied. How do I know SuperDuper is incontact with my drive and is working?

Thanks,

In this case, I don't think it is -- stop the copy, then restart your Mac and give it another try...

Thanks for your response.

I have a PowerBook that I think has crashed. I can start it up with firewire and the disk reads on my eMac, but when i try to open the disk, or get SuperDuper to copy it, nothing happens.

Is my PowerBook drive a lost cause? How can i recover the data on it? Why will my eMac register the drive via firewire but I can't open the drive to access the contents?

Thanks,

It does sound like a big problem: you might want to try Disk Warrior (and contact them to help you do a repair, if it's possible).
