I can't seem to clear the log! I've tried select all and delete, but then the text all reappears the next time I open it. Ditto when I select Delete from the Edit menu.
I must be missing something very obvious!

I'm not sure why you'd want to clear the log, Jimper... we automatically generate a new one every run...

Oops, I see what you mean.
I didn't see it before, because none of the backups I've scheduled will run, and when I checked the log to see if it showed what was wrong, I kept getting the first backup, which I'd done manually.
So let me go to my problem with scheduled backups: I have smart backups of different volumes scheduled for every night of the week, all four weeks, at 11:55, 56, 57 and 58 PM. My Mac is scheduled to wake up at 11:54 PM.
This is my home computer, so I'm always logged in, and all the scripts are listed in the Scheduled scripts window.
The scipts work if I run them manually, but none of them run per the schedule! What am I doing wrong??

If you set a backup for a few minutes from "now" does it run?

No, it doesn't!

That's curious. What are the names of your source and destination volumes?

Dave,
Sorry to be so slow in replying -- for some reason, I didn't see your last message until just now.
I saw where you were going, and you were right. I have a number of different drives and I'd been using some special characters to distinguish between them.
I’ve eliminated the special characters and things are working fine.
Many thanks!
