Ongoing disk activity after SD finished

After SuperDuper completes a smart copy session OK to my external firewire drives, I notice disk read activity continuing for ages, and wonder if its safe to shutdown while this is going on?

That's likely Spotlight. If you add the destination volume into the Spotlight Preference Pane's "Privacy" tab, that'll stop happening.

You're right, a new 'My Book4' partition was missing from the privacy list.. I also found my internal drive was on the list, so thanks very much for the tip!
