Q: where is log file?

Hello all,

im working on a script to be attached after scheduled backup, purpose of the script is to send a email to me after every backup and i would like to attach the log information to the email, if its located somewhere on the hd on a file it would be so easy to join on the message.

So where is the log? I looked for Application support & Superduper but not in there, system logs seem to be old way of containing the information but as for last update, its not there anymore. I did found it on the schedule page so it must be on file somewhere :)

Instead, have you considered using the Growl support to email you? If you install Growl (http://www.growl.info), one of its actions is to email. It won't attach the log, but the notification will tell you if you have to look.

Otherwise, the log for a given set of settings (such as a single schedule) is inside the settings package (Control-click, "Show Package Contents") in the "Logs" folder.

OK so the log file is out there but is there a way to get it out so we could use it with the great app Geektool (http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/) and have it displayed on the background ? Maybe an end of copy script ? As the log file name is incremented each time you juste can't point at it easily...

Sorry for bringing up this old thread but I have an answer for this question. Just follow the guide here. Works great in 10.5.2.
