I'm looking for a SATA enclosure for a 2.5" drive (specifically, the Seagate Momentus ST910021AS (http://www.seagate.com/cda/products/discsales/marketing/detail/0,1081,670,00.html)). I'm going to use it to back up my wife's new Macbook Pro, and I'd like it to be SATA because the laptop is SATA, and I want to be able to install the backup drive into the laptop if the laptop's drive fails.

I've looked at the OWC Mercury On-The-Go (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/on-the-go) and the Wiebetech ComboGB (http://www.wiebetech.com/products/ComboGB.php), but they are both ATA/IDE enclosures. Is anyone making a SATA enclosure for 2.5" drives?

I haven't seen any myself, but Wiebetech's SATA Dock would probably work. Or I'd give them a call and see what they have to say...

hard to find the enclosures; a few are advertised but none seem to be in stock. However, if you just want to do a one-time transfer, try this - it's a bare cable, but it could work (I say could because I haven't tried it. Mine is on order :) )

Here are a couple options:

SATA 150 2.5" Enclosure (http://store.ultraspec.us/sa15025inhdd.html)

INFOSAFE 2.5 SATA to USB 2.0 (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202702035&SearchEngine=Froogle&SearchTerm=202702035&Type=PE&Category=Comp&dcaid=17379)

This is just the kind of thing that Froogle.com (http://froogle.google.com/) is great for.
